The ‘single source of truth’ refers to the single point from which all figures in management report and financial statements originate. It is not a single file or a single report, but a single database and a single set of processing rules.
FlexiEPM retrieves data from financial and accounting systems, ERP systems, HR and payroll systems, and data warehouses. In previous implementations, these have included SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Comarch ERP XL, Comarch ERP Optima, Comarch CDN, Symfonia, enova365, Infor, JD Edwards, QAD and Streamsoft; whilst on the HR and payroll side, they have included SAP HCM, Teta HR, Symfonia HR, Comarch HRM and Simple.
Integration can work in three ways: a direct connection to the source system’s database, data retrieval via an API, or reading a file generated periodically by the source system. If none of these options is immediately available, the project begins by importing trial balances into pre-prepared tables. This process takes just a few hours and allows work to commence using live data from the very first weeks.
Data from each source is loaded into the Microsoft SQL Server database in its original form, together with account numbers and the analytical structure. Mapping tables convert local charts of accounts into a common group-wide chart of accounts, and the system’s rules generate reports based on this. Each figure can be drilled down to the level of an accounting account in a specific company and for a specific period.
As a result, management reports, separate financial statements and consolidated financial statements are generated from the same dataset. There are no situations where two departments show two different figures and no one can explain where the discrepancy came from.
